    Psychologist. Provide psychiatric services to adult populations in the Cottage Health System. Also serve as consultant to the Health System for psychiatric consultation and substance abuse evaluation for trauma patients.

    Provide psychiatric evaluation and treatment to individuals, couples and families. Grief counseling for California Animal Referral & Emergency Hospital. Consult to community agencies on pet loss.

  • MISSION + ST. JOSEPH'S HEALTH SYSTEM (800 bed regional
    hospital – 57 inpatient psychiatric beds) Asheville, NC, 2000 - 2001
    Director – Psychiatric Emergency Services. Supervised a staff of approximately 17 masters and doctoral level clinicians who provided 24 hour coverage in the Emergency Department(s). Provided direct psychiatric services including the assessment and/or referral of individuals ranging from children to geriatrics. Provided consultation and liaison services to general medical floors. Assessed patients in seclusion and/or restraint on inpatient units. Performed involuntary commitments for entire health system. Functioned as one of six department directors among the psychiatric administrative staff.

Clinical Coordinator for Center for Traumatic Stress in Children & Adolescents.     Provided child, adolescent and adult psychotherapy to individuals and families. Provided consultation to local high schools and colleges about youth suicide. Contractual agreement with Juvenile Court to treat juvenile offenders. Employee Assistance Program (EAP) consultant (State Farm Insurance Companies).

  • NIMH GRANT – PROJECT COORDINATOR, Coordinated multi-site grant for sexually abused children. Years inclusive 1997 – 2002. Coordinated all aspects of grant design and implementation.

PRACTICUM EXPERIENCE

  • EMORY UNIVERSITY COUNSELING CENTER, Atlanta, GA 1995-1996
    Provided individual, couple, group and family therapy to University students and their spouses/partners. Responsibilities included crisis intervention, intake evaluations, psychiatric testing, case management duties and providing campus outreach activities. Participated in weekly staffing/case conferences and attended weekly Clinical Issues seminar. Worked primarily with persons from ethnically diverse groups.

  • NORTHWEST GEORGIA REGIONAL STATE HOSPITAL, Rome, GA
    1994-1995
    Provided psychiatric testing/evaluation on a long-term adolescent specialty treatment unit. Conducted intellectual, personality and neuropsychological assessments. Assessment also included interview-based diagnosis, chart review and consultation. Assessed danger and elopement risk. Participated in treatment team meetings, treatment planning and weekly training meetings with psychology department staff. Co-led bi-weekly group therapy with the director of the adolescent unit. Provided individual behavioral therapy to adult patients with chronic schizophrenia.
