Dr. Carley received her DVM degree from Oregon State University/Washington State University in 2004. Following graduation, she completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Bay Area Veterinary Specialists, a busy private specialty practice in the San Francisco area. During her internship she realized her strong interest in canine and feline internal medicine. Dr. Carley then went on to a small animal internal medicine residency at Bay Area Veterinary Specialists, which she finished in July, 2007. Her primary research is in canine pancreatitis but she also has a wide variety of interests in the field of internal medicine including renal, immune-mediated, hematologic and gastrointestinal diseases to name a few, as well as preservation of the human-animal bond. Having successfully completed the qualifying portion of the ACVIM board certification process, she will sit for the Small Animal Internal Medicine Board Exam in June, 2008.
