Are you facing the loss of a much loved pet? Sometimes it helps to talk to someone who understands. If you or someone you know is experiencing feelings of loss, despair, or depression after the loss of a pet, you are welcome to attend free group counseling the first and the third Tuesday of each month. The groups are led by Dr. Trish Lane, a licensed clinical psychologist and one of the owners of the California Animal Referral & Emergency Hospital.
Pet Loss Support and Education
Shiva’s Center for the Human-Animal Bond provides education, guidance and support for pet-loving families as they cope with the devastating loss of their companion animal.
INDIVIDUALS RECEIVE:
- Grief education including what helps to soften the pain
- Emotional support and an opportunity to relate with others who are grieving
- A supportive environment to honor and celebrate their companion, AND
- Referrals to qualified professionals and other community support services
